Chocolate Protein Power Bars

Over the summer, our friends at F45 launched their #F45isNeat protein bake-off competition and boy did we see some amazing entries! The competition encouraged members to make and share tasty treats using our protein as a main ingredient. The winner would take home a bag of naked protein to continue their creativity.

After six weeks of incredible recipes, we couldn’t pick just one winner! Here's Sylvia recipe and check out Hanna's here.

Chocolate Protein Bars | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

METHOD:

Blend all filling ingredients in a food processor until the mixture begins to form a ball & add water slowly, it may need more or less than ¼ cup. Stop periodically to scrape down sides as needed.

Transfer this mixture into a small parchment-lined tupperware container or baking tray of your choice (I used a 20 x 20cm, but anything of a similar size will do). Press down into a flat even block. Then cover with a sheet of parchment paper and press down more, smoothing out the surface. Freeze for a few hours until firm.

When ready to coat, melt your chocolate in a bowl (double boiler or a bowl over a saucepan of hot water). Stir in the additional coating ingredients. Set aside. Have your toppings handy.

Remove the filling from the freezer. Transfer the, now firm, filling block onto a cutting board. Trim off any uneven edges and cut into squares (or any shape you prefer). Dunk each bar in the melted chocolate to coat. Place coated squares on a wire rack over some parchment paper to catch any drips.

Sprinkle with toppings and drizzle with a bit of the remaining chocolate if you like! Place in the fridge or freezer for 20 mins more to set. Enjoy! Keep leftovers refrigerated.
