Matcha Iced Tea

Matcha Iced Tea | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

This is a great summertime creation that will leave you feeling refreshed and full of energy. Matcha Green Tea is amazing. You can read all about it’s benefits here, but the headlines are:

  • Boosts concentration
  • Bursting with antioxidents
  • Helps fight free radicals
  • Aids digestion
  • Enhances mood
  • Calms and relaxes

It’s literally a hero in a cup. But sometimes, especially in the summer, you just don’t want a hot, steaming drink while you’re fighting with a lack of air-conditioning and everyone moaning that’s its too hot (wasn’t it too cold a week ago?). That’s where this delicious iced version comes in…

Matcha Iced Tea Ingredients | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

METHOD:

Boil the kettle and let it cool slightly. Pop two spoonfuls of Matcha in your jug (or you may want to do this in a separate cup for ease of reaching!) and add enough hot water to make a paste. Stir/whisk until the Matcha powder has dissolved.

Add your cold water and the juice of two limes. To finish, throw in the lime quarters and mint and stir well (you can bash it about a little at this stage, like a mojito). Finish with loads of ice.

If you’re feeling exceptionally naughty, we think a splash of vodka would probably go down well with this iced tea!

    • 2 teaspoons of Organic Matcha Green Tea
    • 4 limes, quartered and juiced
    • 4 springs of torn mint
