Does the Amount of Protein You Need Vary For Different Activities?

The simple answer is yes!

Protein requirements are usually stated as grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. For example, a 70kg man with a protein requirement of 1.2g/kg/day, needs 84 grams of protein a day.

From the below table you can  see the required amount of protein dependant on the amount of exercise someone does, rather than the type. For example, the requirement for an elite endurance athlete is twice that of a recreational endurance training. And remember; this is a great guideline to start from, but everyone’s different and you need to consider your individual lifestyle & unique needs!
