Must Do Christmas Activities in London!
Here at Neat, we’re already well and truly in the Christmas spirit! The office advent calendar has been bought, the Christmas tunes are playing, and we couldn’t be more ready for a Friday night mulled wine! For those who are also on the festive bandwagon (or even those who still need a little persuading!), here’s absolutely everything you need to do in London this December – from the place to organise your office Christmas party, to where to find unique, last-minute gifts…
For a True Winter Wonderland:
Christmas at Kew
Kew Gardens is a firm favourite of ours at any time of the year, but it always seems extra special when it’s all lit up for Christmas. It's the perfect place to entertain family as their yearly Winter Trail will be filled with millions of lights, plenty of laser beams and all the atmospheric Christmas feels you could ever dream of. Even Scrooge would be singing carols and toasting a cup of mulled wine...
The Winter Forest
Who would have thought you could find a winter wonderland in the midst of the city? This December you can go from the office straight to the forest, thanks to the Winter Forest, made up of 300 snow-covered trees, that are coming to Broadgate Circle. Talk about post-workout relaxation….
Jimmy’s Winter Lodge & Igloos
Can’t make that ski trip this year? Luckily for you, the Southbank is bringing the Alps to the city this year. You can get all the fun of the mountains (apart from the snow… and the skiing) at Jimmy’s Winter Lodge, where they’ll be serving up all the classics – fondue, hot cocktails and plenty of schnitzels! You can even book out an igloo for the ultimate cosy night out.
For Unique Christmas Gifts:
Renegade Craft Fair, Brick Lane (15-16 Dec)
Instead of going to M&S to buy your Dad yet another Christmas sweater, head to Truman Brewery for every Christmas gifts you could ever wish for. If you can’t find the gift of your dreams, then it probably doesn’t exist.
Kings Cross Canopy Market
Running from the 23rd - 30th December, Kings Cross is giving its Canopy Market a seriously festive makeover. Street food, homemade treats, art, workshops, carols, live music and plenty of mulled wine - what more could you ever want? You could even do your Christmas shopping before you jump on the train back home – that’s what we call present buying efficiency!
For a Group Celebration:
The Big London Bake, The Castle, Tooting
Still wondering what to do with your Tuesday nights since The Bake Off came to a close for another year? Test your skills and see if you’ve got what it takes to be star baker, at The Castle’s Bake Off Tent in Tooting. It’ll even be getting a festive twist (think gingerbread houses and Christmas cakes) this December – the perfect activity for your office Christmas party!
Roof East
What says winter more than… curling? For a unique winter experience, head to Roof East in Stratford for a good game of curling with a Jamaican, “Curl” Runnings theme! Expect tropical décor and a steel band playing some Christmas classics.
For Your Favourite Festive Films:
Backyard Cinema, Winterville (November 15)
Backyard Cinema is back and is going bigger than ever! With not one, but TWO events in London this year, we’re opting for their classic “The Snowman Experience” – a multi-sensory walkthrough cinema that will truly immerse you in that time-old Christmas classic.
Frozen Island, Tropicana Beach Club, Covent Garden
Tropicana Beach has had a winter makeover to make it more mountain-top than sun-drenched beach! Every Sunday in December, they’ll be screening the classic films that we all know and love – Elf, Home Alone, The Santa Clause & Cool Runnings – in the midst of an ice lake, frosty palm trees, and giant snow globes. Complete with frozen cocktails and festive treats, if this doesn’t get you in Christmas spirit, we don’t know what will!
