Although it has a comforting menu, with winter options including a pumpkin and pine nut risotto and a vegan roast, the food is always fresh, nutritious and is never deep-fried.

PickyWops Pizza

This pizzeria has been much hyped on social, and it’s no wonder why! The menu is 100% vegan and absolutely delicious. Pick your base from their list of unique options including Spirulina, Hemp and Turmeric, before going to town on all the toppings. From sausage to salami, mozzarella or ricotta, they’ve got every vegan alternative you could ever imagine.

Tibits

This Veggie / Vegan buffet style restaurant has long been a firm favourite for the non-meat-eating crowd – so much so that they’ve now opened their second branch just behind the Tate Modern. The buffet is usually 80% vegan, however every Tuesday they go completely animal-product free – perfect for anyone attempting Veganuary! On their winter menu, highlights include a chestnut, mushroom & cashew nut roast with vegan gravy, roasted veggies, delicious potato wedges and a whole host of their usual salads. However, be warned, it’s pay by weight, which can be dangerous on your wallet when the food tastes this delicious!

The Waiting Room

For those times when a salad just isn’t going to cut the mustard and a craving for comfort food calls, check out the Waiting Room in Deptford. It’s less raw vegetables and more stacked burgers (including The Colonel: a southern fried ‘chicken’ burger), ‘fish’ finger sandwiches and ‘chilli’ hot dogs.
