What’s In Season Now?

There are a number of awesome reasons why we love to try and eat seasonally, like reducing the energy needed to grow and transport our food - as well as the heavy costs - and simply because it tends to be fresher, tastier and more nutritious. So, before you head to the farmers market this weekend, here’s what you can expect to find in season this April in the UK:

Veggies

Asparagus, broccoli, jersey royal new potatoes, lettuce & salad leaves, purple sprouting broccoli, radishes, rocket, samphire, spinach, spring onions & watercress

Fruits

Bananas, kiwi’s, rhubarb

Herbs

Basil, chives, dill, sorrel

Meat & Fish

Lamb, wood pigeon, cockles, crab, lobster, plaice, prawns, salmon, sea trout, shrimp, whitebait

Unsure of what to make?

How about whipping up a creamy risotto made with asparagus, spring onions and spinach or roasted salmon with new potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli. For busy mornings, we love using frozen banana to make a deliciously sweet and super thick protein shake!
