Get Involved With SportsAid Week!

This Monday marks the start of SportsAid Week, and with SportsAid being our partner charity, we’re so excited that the initiative is back for 2017! It was launched last year to mark the charity’s 40th anniversary and generated over £40,000 as Olympians, Paralympians, up-and-coming athletes, National Governing Bodies, schools, universities, commercial organisations and individuals rallied together for a week of fun and fundraising.

The success of its inaugural year has led to SportsAid Week becoming an annual fixture and the charity is looking for you to play your part this September. There are so many ways to get involved and your support will be making a huge difference to the country's brightest sporting prospects! Here are some of the ways that we’re getting involved here at Neat, and we'd love for you to join us….

SportsAid Yoga Event

Yoga Event at The Neat Cafe | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

To kick things of on Monday we’ll be hosting a special yoga class and Q&A at lululemon's flagship store on Regents Street. The class will be led by Olympic silver medallist diver, BBC commentator, lululemon ambassador and yoga instructor, Leon Taylor, with all profits from the class being donated to SportsAid.

Leon, a silver Olympic medallist from Athens, recently joined Team GB to provide online yoga and HITT workouts. Leon has been a qualified yoga teacher since 2009, strongly believing in the benefits of a regular practice. The class will be suitable for yogis of all levels and will focus on vinyasa flow.

Ahead of the class, guests will have the opportunity to listen to an exclusive Q&A with Leon and Lee Forster, co-founder of Neat Nutrition, to learn all about yoga, nutrition and life as a world class athlete. And of course, we couldn't let you go home without refuelling you first! Once the class is done every guest will be gifted with a free Neat Nutrition SportsAid Week shake to enjoy! Bra you tickets, here.

The #MyMiles Challenge

My Miles SportsAid Challenge | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

On average, a SportsAid athlete covers 40 miles whilst training and competing every week. #MyMiles is a social media campaign designed to highlight the commitment of the country’s finest young athletes, which asks people to keep them company during SportsAid Week.

The challenge is very simple and easy to do – we want people to physically cover a distance of their choice (one mile minimum), make a nomination to continue the chain via social media and donate £2 to SportsAid by texting 'WEEK40 £2' to 70070. That's it! To hear more about the challenge, watch this short video, here.

If you'd like to get involved, promote #MyMiles through your social media channels and take part in the challenge to help generate awareness for SportsAid's young athletes. You could even do your miles collectively with friends or work colleagues!

Our Bespoke SportsAid Shake at The Neat Café

SportsAid Shake SportsAid Week | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

Last but not least, we’ll also be raising money for SportsAid Week with a bespoke SportsAid shake available for one week only at The Neat Café. It’s designed to be the perfect athlete’s fuel, and will be particularly great for anyone joining in on the #MyMiles challenge!

Made with spinach, frozen mango, chia seeds and coconut milk, it’s a seriously tropical and tasty way to refuel your muscles and get in those micronutrients. Do your bit for SportsAid Week by simply grabbing a shake whilst you can - and make sure to share the love and tag us in your picture on Instagram too!
