We've got all nostalgic for today's protein smoothie bowl recipe - after all, what says Summer more than a bowl of Neopolitan ice cream? It takes a little bit longer to make than our usual 2-minute smoothies, but we promise the extra effort will be worth it!
Start by blending together your frozen banana with the vanilla extract, salt, and protein powder in a high-powered food processor. Add a splash of milk to help this blend, but be careful not to add too much if you want to keep a thick, ice cream like texture. Be patient and keep scraping down the sides every 30 seconds and blending until your mixture becomes thick and smooth.
Pour 2/3's of the banana ice cream into a bowl and place in the fridge. Add the frozen strawberries to the remaining ice cream mixture in the food processor and blend again until smooth.
Pour your strawberry ice cream into a separate bowl, and add 1/2 of the remaining plain banana ice cream mixture to your food processor. Add a large tbsp of cocoa powder and blend again until smooth.
Now, assemble! Swirl together all three smoothie flavours, add your toppings and devour.
