Pumpkin Pie Oats
Halloween is fast approaching, and if you know your day (or week!) will involve snacking on a hefty amount of sweets, try to load up on a good, hearty breakfast beforehand. This warming oats recipe will still get you in the spirit of things but will also make sure you’re getting plenty of slow-releasing carbohydrates and protein too.
METHOD:
Mix together the oats, milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup and spices, place in a saucepan, cooking them on a medium heat. Stir regularly, until the oats have thickened and are well-cooked through.
Take the pan off the stove and stir in the Vanilla Protein. We used Whey Protein, but if you're using Vegan Protein you may need to add a little more milk to get your desired consistency.
Serve with yoghurt, pecans, an extra dash of cinnamon and a drizzle of maple syrup.
