London's Top Vegan Brunches

Our friends at Mindful Chef are here to show you that vegan brunches mean more than just avocado on toast. Buckwheat pancakes, smoky baked beans, sweet potato hash and homemade granola are all on the menu in their roundup of London’s best plantbased brunch spots.

Mildreds

Mildreds Brunch Vegan | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

Why we love it: There’s a reason Mildred's has become a veggie institution. Dealing in plant-fuelled fare since 1988, this Soho hotspot has had a while to perfect its vegan brunch game. And perfect it they have: with a menu featuring oak smoked baked beans, spicy tostadas, and quinoa waffles, this is a breakfast that means business.

Try the: The Big Brunch. If you’ve managed to bag a coveted table at peak brunch time, make the most of it with Mildred’s signature breakfast.

Find it: Locations in Soho, Camden and Kings Cross.

Nama Foods, Notting Hill

Nama Foods Vegan Brunch | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

Why we love it: For a brunch that’s as Instagram-worthy as it is delicious, Nama is the only place to go. Their offerings are all vegan and impressively creative. And the best bit? They actively encourage the consumption of cake at breakfast. 100% raw, of course.

Try the: Full English. This really is a fry-up with a difference – mostly because it’s not fried. Or even cooked for that matter. This raw and vegan take on the English classic features cashew scrambled ‘eggs’, aubergine bacon, herbed portobello sausage and almond and walnut toast.

Find it: 110 Talbot Road, W11 1JR

Ethos

Ethos Vegan Breakfast Oats | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

Why we love it: Oxford Circus isn’t exactly known for its food scene, which is partly what makes Ethos so special. This stylish cafe serves up a winning vegan brunch, with plenty of gluten-free options too. Perfect for when you need to escape the throng of shoppers on Oxford Street.

Try the: Scrambled tofu with sweet potato, onion crackling and avocado. Add a cold-pressed energy smoothie if you need a little extra shopping fuel.

Find it: 48 Eastcastle Street, W1W 8DX

Cafe Van Gogh, Brixton

Cafe Van Gogh Brixton Vegan Brunch | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

Why we love it: There’s nothing pretentious about Brixton’s Cafe Van Gogh. The portions are generous, the staff are friendly and the food is wholesome. Just the ticket for a lazy Sunday brunch.

Try the: Shakshuka. Creamy tahini replaces the egg in this vegan take on a brunch classic.

Find it: 88 Brixton Rd, SW9 6BE

26 Grains

26 Grains Vegan Brunch: Porridge Bowl | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense.

Why we love it: It’s not often you find a brunch menu that revolves around porridge. But at 26 Grains, the gluten-free oat is transformed into something worth shouting about. From Nordic pear porridge to coconut bircher muesli, this is a true celebration of the humble grain.

Try the: Banana cacao porridge, featuring coconut yoghurt, cacao nibs and date syrup. Superfood breakfasts don’t get much tastier than this.

Find it: 1 Neal’s Yard, WC2H 9DP
