5 Energy Ball Recipes For On-The-Go Snacking
We all know the 11am slump. Or perhaps you’re more familiar with the 3.30pm dip? Either way, sometimes you need that little something between meals to keep you going, and that’s where the energy ball – or as we like to call them – protein ball, is the perfect choice.
It’s easy to pop to the vending machine or say yes to those donuts sitting in the staff room, but with a maximum of ten minutes prep time you’ll have a healthier, more satiating alternative that will last the week.
Golden rules for energy balls? Avoid adding sugar. If you have a sweet tooth, you could use maple syrup or honey, but refined sugar will give you a spike in energy only to cause a slump afterwards. By using ingredients like oats, nuts and dates, you’ll get more sustainable, slow releasing energy.
